Our B&D Team under the leadership of Team Captain Gareth Moore travelled to Shandon for the 2nd leg of this year’s final. The boys faced an uphill task after a heavy defeat at home last Sunday. Michael McSherry was first out and went down 2 after four holes as his opponent had eagles at both the 3rd and 4th. Michael fought bravely and held on before finally being beaten 3/2.
September Medalon Sunday 21 September 2014 - 19:22:58
Just 3 official Saturday competitions are left in the season and early morning golfer Martin McKinstry got his name on the 2014 winners’ list when he took yesterday’s September Medal with a nett 65 off 13. A birdie at the 9th capped a most impressive front 9 and after 12 holes he was just 2 over par. He then made his own attempt at a mini collapse by dropping 6 shots over the next 4 holes helped by double bogeys at the 13th and 15th, but composed himself to finish 3-5 and win the day.

Ladies Resultson Saturday 20 September 2014 - 09:50:39
With the greens being hollow tinned this week the ladies competition was reduced to a 9 hole scramble. The winners were Ray Gregg, Gina Lewis and Wendy Rusk with 29.3. The three ladies clearly enjoyed the different format and combined well to win their prize. The runners up were Katrina Bradford, Debbie McCollum and Anette Kilbinger with a nett 30.6. With only a few competitions left why not get out and enjoy the last competitions of the summer season and get your name down for the winter golf.

Gents’ Open Stablefordon Monday 15 September 2014 - 15:20:40
Gerard Marner enjoyed yesterday’s beautiful conditions more than most when he lifted the Open Stableford with his best score of the year of 42pts, off 20. This was the third time this year he has equalled or bettered 40pts, early, middle and now late season, and this rhythm coupled with his normal form would suggest that the next time we will see him in the prizes should be around Easter, 2015.
