The new Air 2g2 Aeration Machine which was working on the greens at Lurgan this week. The unit, of which there are only 3 in Ireland, costs approximately £30k and it does really make "the earth move"

In a recent workshop run by the Golfing Union Of Ireland it was highlighted that the length of time taking to play a round of golf was one of the reasons for the decline in golf club membership.
Ladies March Medalon Friday 27 March 2015 - 09:29:17
A small but quality field took to the fairways on Thursday to compete for the ladies March medal. Katrina Bradford continued to show that all her hard work as match and handicap secretary doesn't hold her back on the course, when she produced a classy display of golf to win the silver medal section with a nett 71.
Wednesday Sweep (25/3/15)on Wednesday 25 March 2015 - 19:55:29
Marty ‘magic wand’ Rea made it two Wednesday Sweeps in a month when he lifted today’s competition with 43pts, off 11, a clear 3pts ahead of a truly quality field. Marty’s magic wand is a cross between a putter and a wedge, and while its appearance may bemuse many, he has the uncanny ability to knock it close from anywhere between 10 and 50yds. Indeed the highlight of his round was when he used this ‘club’ to hole out for birdie from fully 30yds off the green at the 16th.

Ladies Resultson Wednesday 25 March 2015 - 10:08:21
The ladies competition this week may not have reached the dizzying heights of excitement that we all enjoyed at the weekend with the rugby but we had our own back to back winner in Rosemary Callender when she won Bernadette Laverty's prize on Tuesday with 39 pts, just after taking the top spot in the Ladies Sunday Open two days earlier. Rosemary plays a lot of golf and we're all delighted to see her good golf continue in a year when she is particularly busy at home. We hope she has time to fit in some extra golf for the teams as no doubt team captains have an eye on her progress as the inter club matches draw ever nearer.
Ladies & Gents Sunday Open (22/03/15)on Sunday 22 March 2015 - 20:59:10
If anyone is seeking to transform their game in a hurry they could possibly seek out Martin McKinstry for advice. He finished his Saturday morning round with a double bogey to add to 3 NRs on the back 9 and finish 105th. On Sunday his 46pts, off 12, gave him outright victory after going round in just 2 over par, and he will no doubt be planning to spend future Saturdays in similar fashion to the last one.
Johnston Trophyon Sunday 22 March 2015 - 08:49:58
The Johnston Trophy was the first trophy of the new golfing season up for grabs and Joseph McGlone was quickest out of the blocks to register an early victory with 43pts off 21. A pair of opening double bogeys meant just 2 pts after 2 holes, but a spectacular run saw him add 21 more pts before the turn to move from nowhere into a strong challenging position. A very steady back 9 brought a further 20pts and saw him lift the trophy by a single pointt.
Ladies Resultson Friday 20 March 2015 - 09:19:47
On Tuesday the ladies played for a prize kindly donated by Mrs Fiona McGrady. This week the competition was over 14 holes and each week, as the ladies rediscover their games after the winter break, the scoring seems to improve. This week top spot went to Josie McAnarney with 32 pts just beating Pat Hughes on the count back.
